Binance.US has hired Krishna Juvvadi, former global head of operations compliance at Uber, as its new general counsel.
- Juvvadi was also Uber's Chief Regulatory Counsel and the first regulatory attorney to help the company secure legislation and registration at the local, state and federal levels in the US.
- The hire reflects efforts by Binance.US' parent company to strengthen its legal and compliance team. Bloomberg reported this week that the company is looking to hire 30 attorneys, primarily in the areas of privacy and regulatory counsel.
- Binance has been trying to build more sympathetic relationships with regulators in recent months after receiving a series of warnings from regulators and others last year.
- "I am impressed with the significant, focused steps the company has taken in recent months to strengthen its legal and compliance efforts," Juvvadi said.
- Juvvadi follows in the path of CEO Brian Shroder, who served as Uber's head of strategy and business development in Asia Pacific for two years from 2016 to 2018.
