The U.S. Department of Commerce's International Trade Administration is seeking public comment on how to respond to President Joe Biden's executive order on crypto, according to a release issued Thursday.
- The executive order called on Commerce, the State Department, the Treasury Department and other U.S. departments and agencies to establish a framework for improving U.S. economic competitiveness in digital assets. It was issued in March.
- In its request, the Commerce Department specifically seeks comments on a broad range of issues related to the global competitiveness of U.S. companies in the digital asset space, comparisons to traditional financial services and financial inclusion considerations, and technology considerations.
- Written comments must be received by July 5 at 5 p.m. Eastern Time.
