Ark’s woeful 2022 is 3x worst than the S&P 500, which is down 20% year-to-date, and 6x worse than the Dow Jones industrial average, which is down 10% year-to-date. Despite this, Cathie is super bullish for 2023 and believes it’s darkest before the dawn. In a short year-end Q&A, Cathie explained that her 5 innovation platforms are in the process of causing deflation, which she has been predicting for quite some time. Cathie also believes that now might be a once-in-a-century opportunity, similar to that of the late 1910s when massive innovation occurred, a pandemic just passed and a war just ended, setting the stage for the ‘roaring 20s’. Cathie believes we might be heading into a similar ‘roaring’ situation but before that comes, Cathie reiterated that NOW is the time to get in the market, when there’s blood in the street and everyone appears scared.
