At the end of July, The Federal Reserve hiked interest rates by 0.75 percentage points for the second consecutive time to fight inflation, taking its benchmark rate to a range of 2.25%-2.5%. While the markets rallied shortly after the news, many analysts, pundits, and investors are still unsure which way the Fed will go with their next meeting, scheduled in September. In an interview with Natalie Brunell, retired Bonds trader and bitcoin enthusiasts Greg Foss stated that believes that the fed doesn’t have much room to raise rates, and they implied their intention with the language they used in their last meeting. Foss believes that anything above 4% will decimate the economy and move us toward a depression and because of this, we have to accept the reality that quantitative easing is here to stay forever essentially. While Foss’s views might be contrary to what many analysts and mainstream media have been reporting, Foss believes it isn’t all bad news because once we realize the true state of our new economic landscape, Bitcoin will decouple from equities and be off to the races.
