The conflict, as expected, has decimated markets and chain supplies worldwide …and created distrust for governments, particularly in regards to assets. The Ruble has hit all-time lows with no sign of recovery, Crude oil prices have elevated, and inflation looks to be increasing even more after the world experienced asset inflation due to Covid. On top of turbulent market conditions, the safety of assets is becoming more transparent than ever. Russian Ogliarchs are being shunned worldwide, most notably Roman Abramovich, owner of the world-renowned Chelsea Football Club in the United Kingdom. Abramovich put the club up for sale earlier this month as the threat of sanctions loomed. Abramovich has been banned from undertaking any transactions with U.K. individuals and businesses. He is unable to access his assets in the country and is not allowed to travel there. Abramovich’s situation might be the most high-profile due to Chelsea’s worldwide fan base, but his situation is one of many happening around the world. In Canada, PM Justin Trudeau froze assets without due process during the Trucker Convoy. All of this just feeds into the necessity of Bitcoin and crypto and evokes the question, “how safe are your assets?”
