Ethereum has been making all the headlines in the past few weeks, as the bear market rally has taken effect. After starting off July trading at about $1,060, Ethereum is currently trading for $1,682.72, up 57% in the past 30 days. Ethereum is set for an upgrade in September, which could be part of the reason for such a run-up, but according to Co-Founder Vitalik Buterin, the ‘merge’ is not priced in. Ethereum Merge, the long-awaited upgrade that will complete Ethereum’s transition from a proof-of-work (PoW) to a proof-of-stake system, has some analysts believing that Ethereum can continue to outperform Bitcoin in the long term, as it did in the month of July. And although Ethereum’s transaction fees are predicted to still be high, analysts feel that Ethereum will still have “a larger adoption space” as the base layer of the decentralized finance economy, and Macro Analyst and CEO of Real Vision, tends to agree with the overall sentiment of Ethereum.
In an interview with Abra, Raoul Pal was asked “Ethereum or Bitcoin?”, to which he emphatically leaned toward Ethereum. Although he is still a believer in Bitcoin, Raoul believes Ethereum’s versatility of use makes it an easy choice. Although some may disagree, Raoul explains his line of thinking.
