Should you store Gold or HODL Bitcoin? The long-standing debate that has many arguing about what's the best store of value during times of economic uncertainty. The gold bugs will argue that Gold has a proven track record that has endured for centuries through wars, famines, and economic collapses, unlike Bitcoin which is a relatively new technology that hasn’t quite been tested through centuries of economic cycles. The Bitcoin maxis will argue that gold isn’t practical and is an old technology that cannot be moved across the globe in a matter of seconds at a minuscule cost. While both have valid points, investor Greg Foss suggests that the debate between the two is silly. The real focus for everyone should be, whether it’s Bitcoin or Gold, is to get out of fiat immediately, no matter what… at least from a store of value perspective. In an interview with Swan Bitcoin, Foss explained that the Fed is trapped and we are in an economic territory that we’ve never seen before. Despite the Fed’s efforts to provide a “soft landing” by taming inflation and tightening up the money printer, in Foss’s view, from a pure mathematical standpoint, the Fed will have to turn the money printer back on and there’s no way around it. Foss believes they have gone beyond repair with their spending and the only shot to correct the issue is to print more money. Some analysts and pundits have drawn comparisons of the current economic climate to that of the dot.com bubble or the crash of ‘08-0’9. Investor Cathie Wood seems to believe the economic climate is eerily similar to that of the roaring 20s when we saw a technology boom that transformed society. However, Foss isn’t buying any of the comparisons and believes we are in territory no one has ever seen before. So to call out how this thing ends would be pure speculation.
