LUNA, UST still available on FTX and other exchanges despite Terra blockchain halt

Transactions made during the blockchain halt are not considered final as they cannot be settled.

Despite a second halt to the Terra blockchain by its validators, the protocol's LUNA and UST tokens can still be traded on FTX and other smaller exchanges as of late morning Asian time.

  • FTX and China-focused exchange Gate.io continue to trade the Luna token.
  • Between its USD and USDT trading pairs, FTX has seen nearly $445 million in volume in the last 24 hours, according to CoinGecko.
  • Meanwhile, Gate.io reports $84 million in volume for Luna in the last 24 hours.
  • Thailand-based exchange Bitazza traded both Luna and UST until early this morning Asian time, when it pulled the plug.
  • UST continues to trade on FTX and KuCoin, with $678 million in volume in the last 24 hours on FTX and $248 million on KuCoin.
  • Binance and many other major exchanges stopped trading Luna and UST as both tokens approached the $0 point and the Terra blockchain shut down for the first time.
  • It is unclear if the Terra blockchain will ever be restarted, meaning trades may never settle and traders may not be able to cash out.
